Replacing my roof – myself!

Last Tuesday it was pouring with rain and windy…

And I was in the worst possible place…

At the top of a rather tall scaffolding tower…

I was hit by a gust of wind and was almost blown off the tower…

Was I doing?

Helping the builder replace the metal roof on one of our barns…

This is a large project which includes installing many kilowatts of solar panels…

Our plan is to go completely off grid…

Dave and I have always liked the idea of being energy independent…

Not having to rely on a grid connection from the government…

This goes hand in hand with being financially independent…

Not having to rely on an employer for an income…

Or certainly not having to trade time for money…

Now being an Internet marketer and somebody who loves getting stuck in and working out how things work…

I’ve decided to do the entire solar installation myself…

I’ve watched loads of training videos…

Read books and articles online….

And I’ve even started a YouTube channel showing the journey,

You’ll find it on YouTube it’s called gridbusters….

The weird thing is at times I have the same feelings as I had when I first started Internet marketing…..

The first day all the equipment arrived for the solar system was crazy…

There must have been 20 boxes with hundreds of components….

I hit complete overwhelm

I unpacked everything and just stared at everything lying on the floor ….

I didn’t know where to start?

So what did I do…..

I packed everything away and tackled everything one step at a time….

Sometimes when you look at a big project in its entirety it can be difficult to start…

So what I did was broke the project down into smaller bite-size chunks and tackled it one step at a time…

For instance one of the things I had to do was build the batteries…

So I spent three weeks just learning about the batteries and nothing else and got them built….

And this is what I’ve been doing for the past three months….

I’m finally at this stage we’re about to mount the solar panels to the roof….

We have been delayed a little bit over the past couple of weeks due to bad weather…

But hopefully next week we will be back on track….

I’ve got nothing to sell today but thought I’d keep you up-to-date with what I’ve been doing…

Remember if you’ve got a big Internet marketing project to go through…

And you feel a bit overwhelmed….

Split up the project into small bite-size chunks….

And tackle things one step at a time…

Commit to doing one small thing each day….

And in no time you’ll have your project complete….

Have a great Monday whatever you’re doing,
