Why 4 Years to complete?

Sometimes I find it really hard to get projects finished…

It all seems so exciting when you first start….

Planning everything out…..

Even starting a new project can be exciting….

However completing a project can be difficult…

As some of you may know several years ago we purchased the house next door and completely gutted it and rebuilt it.

We even converted the barn which attached the property…

We did all the work ourselves…

80% of the work we completed in the first year…

time management

However the final 20% took us three years to complete!

So how did I get the whole thing finished off…

Last year I was visiting my sister in London and are sitting in her kitchen…

They were talking about the house and to be honest I felt kind of embarrassed that it wasn’t finished…

So I announced that the house would soon be complete and the whole family must come over and stay for the summer…

This gave me a serious deadline to work towards…

In fact it only gave me three months to get everything finished off…

Dave and I worked like crazy, often for 12 hours straight!

But by August we had the whole house finished….

There’s nothing like a deadline to get a project completed…

Exactly the same thing has happened to me over the years with Internet marketing…

I’ve created a lot of products over the years…

Some products I’ve created super quickly…

And other products have taken me over two years to complete….

The reason that some of my products have been created quickly was all down to a deadline…

For instance I’ve developed many products were I’ve sold them before I’ve even created them!

  • First I put the sales material together
  • Then I sell the product…
  • Then I deliver the training over a four-week period..

Basically I create the product as I’m delivering it….

In fact this is how I created one of my first ever successful products…

In fact that product was so successful it’s how I purchased my first car back in 2009,

Range-Rover-EvoqueMy range Rover Evoke.

Now whenever I’m creating products I always give myself a hard deadline…

Sometimes I even schedule in a promotion with the JV partner who is going to promote my product on a certain date.

This ensures that the product is ready on time!

So next time you’re putting a product together or going through a training course…

Set yourself a clear deadline of when you want to get things completed…

Or if you’re going through multi-module course…

Work out what the main things you need to complete in the course…

And put them in your diary….

If for some reason you don’t have time to do it yourself, outsource it….

A new summer deadline for myself…

My sister and her family are due to arrive here in France in three weeks time…

This has given myself and Dave a deadline to get some new flowerbeds laid out in the garden….

And to plant some trees and shrubs….

Again this is something that’s been on the drawing board for…

Well I don’t even know how long….

It’s been so long!!!

There’s nothing like a deadline to get things completed…

Have a great Tuesday whatever you’re doing,
