Re-editing Your Life

Okay I’m the first to admit it…

I love the Rocky movies…

I’ve always been a big fan ever since I was a child…

Last year I was amazed to hear that Sylvester Stallone was hard at work re-editing Rocky 4.

Apparently he was going to be releasing a directors cut…

Basically during lockdown he decided to use the time wisely…

He was never really happy with the movie even though it was a big hit…

Over the course of the year the directors cut turned into a complete re-edit of the movie…

He removed over 40 minutes from the film…

And inserted over 40 minutes of new footage…

I watched a really interesting two hour video on YouTube that one of Sylvester Stallone’s friends shot on his iPhone…

It was a behind the scenes of the edit…

Really interesting…

Sylvester explained…

You rarely get a chance to go back in time and edit something from your life…

He said he’s got a lot more life experience now so he wanted to change the film to reflect that…

So last Friday I went to see the new version in the cinema…

boxing glovesRocky versus Drago…

I decided to drive into central London as the only cinema I could find showing it on Friday was in Trafalgar Square…

Boy was that a big mistake…

I got caught in terrible traffic on Savile Row, yeah that’s the famous road where mens suits are made…

And I almost missed the movie!

I hate it when I get stressed like that and then have to run to the cinema…

Anyway what an incredible movie…

It’s much more modern and they’ve taken out all of the cheesy stuff with the robot!!

It just goes to show what can be done if you revisit earlier work…

I’ve had the same kind of thing happened to me in the past…

I worked on a large project on my computer…

And then for one reason or another lost my entire project…

Usually due to some sort of hardware failure…

I’ve had to redo the entire project…

What usually happens?

I end up with a version 2.0 which is much better than the original…

It kind of got me thinking that maybe I should revisit some of my earlier products that I created…

I can make a version 2.0…

Let me know what you think…

Should I create new versions of some of my earlier products?

If so reply to this email and let me know…

The other movie I saw this week was the new Ghostbusters film…

Ghostbusters afterlife…

Again a brilliant film…

I absolutely loved it…

And the original cast was in the film which was a big bonus…

The crazy part was…

Most of the audience missed part of the film…

About one minute into the credits there is an extra scene with Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver…

By this point only about 20% of the audience was still in the cinema…

And then the main credits came up…

That’s when everybody except me and I think one other person stayed behind to watch the credits…

After all the credits rolled at the very end when you would expect the house lights to come up…

There was an extra three scenes featuring the original cast!

I feel very smug…

That’s because I always wait until the very end of the last credit before I leave the auditorium…

And it’s amazing how often you get to see extra things like this that most people miss…

Anyway Ghostbusters afterlife definitely go and see it…

And it’s well worth seeing it in the cinema on the biggest screen you can find…

Making affiliate sales

One of the things I love is getting notifications on my phone that I made an affiliate sale…

So there I was last week at a school concert…

My niece plays the violin so I attended one of her concerts…

There was about 100 people in the audience and as usual I put my phone set to silence…

However notifications were still showing up on my watch…

During the concert I had three notifications that popped up on my watch…

Notifications telling me I had made a $97 affiliate sale…

I sat there during the concert with a big smile on my face….

I still find it incredibly satisfying whenever I make an affiliate sale like this…

What’s the secret?

How do I make consistent sales…

Well it’s all down to one word and that is…

Repeatability…

It’s all very well making one sale here or there…

The most overlooked part of affiliate marketing is being able to make sales over and over…

After all being able to make affiliate sales each and every day…

Gives you the freedom to travel and not be tied down to a full-time job…

As an example in January…

I’m off to Thailand for three months…

All I need is a laptop and an Internet connection and I can work from anywhere…

Have a great week whatever you’re doing,
