Living in the countryside can be frustrating…
Especially since we don’t have cabled Internet…
Pretty ironic isn’t it…
I run an Internet marketing business…
And I have a bad Internet connection….
So how do we get our Internet?
Via unreliable incredibly overpriced satellite Internet.
In fact it costs us about $600 a month for our connection!!
And to be honest it’s not really fast enough to do live video web casts or upload video!!
It also has a nasty habit of cutting out every now and again…
This can be really nerve wracking when doing a live webinar!
And every now and again we lose Internet for a couple of hours!
Its kind of challenging trying to run an Internet marketing business without an Internet connection…
Last year I installed a backup Internet connection…
A mobile phone Sim card Rueter an aerial which I installed on the roof!!
However was so far away from a mobile phone tower that sometimes we don’t get a connection…
So we ended up with a system that is usable, but incredibly unreliable…
Plus we have to be really careful that we don’t go over our monthly bandwidth cap of 200GB…
I’ve even tried to look into the cost of getting a fibre-optic cable laid to the house..
Okay yes it might have cost 30K – 40K..
The French phone company refused!!
At any cost!
Enter Elon musk…
A couple of years ago Elon musk’s new company Staar link started to launch satellites into space.
The plan is to create a satellite Internet company offering global Internet coverage!
In fact they’ve already launched over 1,500 satellites!
And plan to launch tens of thousands more over the next few years…
Last week Starlink went live in France
As you can imagine I’ve signed up!!
My starlink satellite receiver and dish is arriving NEXT MONDAY!!
This will mean that I will be able to get faster than fibre-optic broadband here in rural France…
I’m so excited!!
I’m going to making an un-boxing video…
And also a video of Dave and I setting it up…
And showing the speeds were getting…
I’ll upload it to the Facebook group next week…
What does this mean for Internet marketers?
Location independence!!
This means that Internet marketers can now be located anywhere on the planet…
Even in the most remote corners of the globe…
And still have superfast Internet access…
If you could live anywhere on planet Earth, where would you live!
Just as a side note for any property developers…
A couple of years ago when I was searching for property in the UK…
I noticed that any property in a rural location that had no broadband Internet, was priced way below market value!!
However that’s all changing now…
As all locations on the globe now have access to superfast broadband!!
So there’s definitely a money making opportunity therefore a property entrepreneur..

My Hibernation Period..
I’ve been in hibernation over the winter period.
I’ve barely been getting 4000 steps a day in!
So over the last couple of weeks I’ve been making a big effort to go out for a walk each day…
It’s amazing how much more productive I am if I am able to get 10,000 steps in…
Must go now as I’m only up to 1600 steps today!
I guess I’m going to have to go for a very long walk!!
Hope it doesn’t start raining…
