It seems straightforward enough…

When I’m travelling, one essential tool I need is a laptop…

Last year when I was in the States my laptop kept crashing…

It was incredibly frustrating…

So I decided it was time to purchase something new…

After all my laptop was nine years old!

So I decided I needed to purchase something new…

My criteria was simple…

  • Powerful enough to record and edit video…
  • Fit on a tray table on an aeroplane..
  • Have an all day battery life
  • Less than 1.5 kg

So I went to Best Buy and purchased a new top of the range $2,000 laptop…

When I got home I put my old laptop in a cupboard and forgot about it…

My new Windows laptop is part of my portable office that I use when I’m travelling…

This consists of…

  1. My laptop
  2. Portable second monitor
  3. Small sound mixer
  4. Microphone
  5. Mouse
  6. keyboard
  7. Computer stand

This means I can set up office pretty much anywhere and be comfortable…

However when I’m at home I usually like to use a chromebook which I keep on my coffee table..

Chromebooks are inexpensive small laptops that only have a web browser…

There are brilliant because there is no start-up time, as soon as you open the lid it’s instantly switched on…

There is no operating system to worry about, so no antivirus or updates to worry about…

I was thinking about purchasing a new chromebook but then I remembered my old laptop…

I had heard that you can actually turn old laptops, Windows or Macs, into a chromebook…

I found a video on YouTube showing how to do this.

Go to My Blog to See Video >>>

It seems straightforward enough…

Wow it only took about 20 minutes and now I have a brand-new chromebook!!

It’s brilliant, a new lease of life for a piece of equipment I properly would have ended up throwing out...

I guess you would call this up cycling…

So if you have an old laptop, or an old Mac that you no longer use…

I would highly recommend turning it into a chromebook….

Really useful to use in the living room or kitchen….

Or just something you can give to the kids to use…

It’s crazy really when you think of all the people around the world…

Some of them are based in the UK and America….

That don’t even have access to their own computer!!!

And then think of all those old laptops, that are stashed away in attics and cupboards…

Which are destined for landfill !!

So if you have an old laptop that you no longer use…

Turn it into a chromebook..

You can either use it yourself, or gift it to somebody that might desperately need it!

Movies I’ve watched this week

Never say never again

I was really sad to hear about the death of Sean Connery this month…

I loved his movies and of course he was the best James Bond….

So this month I had to watch my favourite James Bond movie, never say never again…

The weird thing is, it’s not an official James Bond movie…

But that’s a really long story, look it up online…

I really enjoyed watching never say never again, I really think it was Sean Connery at his best…

Star Trek II

Last month I told you that I was watching all the Star Trek movies again…

This month I watched Star Trek II.

What a great movie, much better in Star Trek one!

It’s great fun watching these movies over again…

Must go now as I’m getting a great offer together for Black Friday next week.

Look out for my emails, I got something very very special lined up…

Have a great week whatever you’re doing,
