Mission Creep

A few weeks ago the rubber seal on our washing machine started to crack and leak..

So we were forced to use our new washing machine next door in the guest guesthouse…

I wondered if the rubber seal could be replaced?

So went online…

Sure enough I found a company selling the rubber door seals…

There was even a YouTube video showing how to fit it!

How hard could it be….

The video made it out to be a relatively simple..

The only complicated thing seem to be that you had to take the door off which seems simple enough….

On Saturday I pulled the washing machine out and disconnected it…

Although I had the correct spare part….

The washing machine in the video was not the same as mine!!

On further inspection I quickly realised this was gonna be a much more complicated job than I originally thought…

After searching on YouTube I finally found a video showing how to fit the door seal…

A simple job turned into a three-hour Marathon…

I’ve never taken a washing machine apart before….

And I guess I was kinda paranoid about losing some of the small parts or bolts….

Or forgetting where all the bits go….

Luckily for me a couple of weeks ago I been watching the new tv show series…

Called Away..

This is a show all about the first manned trip to Mars…

Halfway through the mission the water recycling machine starts to fail….

And the chief engineer loses his site so can’t fix the machine…

It’s up to the crew to strip down the machine which has literally thousands of parts….

They came up with a really cool system….

One person removes a part…

And a second person write down where it went and sticks it down to a piece of card using sticky tape…

By the way this is a great TV show I highly recommend it…

I realised taking this washing machine apart would need a little bit of organisation…

I retrieved an ice cube tray from the cupboard…

And some sticky labels…

Every bolt I removed from the machine I took a photo of where it came from…

And then placed it in the ice cube tray, wrote out a label and put it over the top…

After a couple of hours I seem to have the entire machine taken apart….

Eventually I removed the door seal…..

Replaced it with the new one….

And put the machine back together again….

And guess what…

It worked!!

I have to say it’s incredibly satisfying repairing something….

I guess you just need to be well organised….

Internet marketing mission creep

I think a lot of people struggle with Internet marketing because of similar reasons to the washing machine…

Everything starts off with one simple objective….

But then seemed to get more complex as time goes on…

Things are not helped by disorganisation….

Things get left out….

Sometimes people don’t follow all the steps correctly…

And sometimes it can be so overwhelming that you don’t even start!!

Sound familiar?

What’s the solution?

Get back to basics…

Learn how to make $100…

Then learn how to repeat this process over and over…

The key is repeatability…

I’ve made a video about this here 🙂

Once you learn how to make $100 online…

And you know how to repeat the process over and over…

It becomes very easy to scale your income…

This is how fortunes are made on the Internet….

Movies and TV I’m watching…

The Star Trek movie Blu-ray box set

I purchased this a couple of years ago but I’ve only ever watched a couple of the movies from this box set..

Yes I properly seen them all on TV over the years but never sat down and watched all the movies in high definition…

On Sunday Dave and I both thought it would be really cool to start from the first movie…

And over the course of the next month or two work our way through all of the Star Trek movies.

So I think will do one movie a week starting with Star Trek the motion picture.

Hannibal Lecter

After watching silence of the lambs the other week and thoroughly enjoying it…

I decided to watch the rest of the movies…

I then realised I only actually had two of the other movies in my collection,

Man Hunter and Hannibal.

So went to Amazon and ordered,

  • Red Dragon
  • Red Dragon Hannibal Rising
  • and the TV series Hannibal

I thoroughly enjoyed these movies and there’s nothing quite like a good horror movie for those dark cold winter nights.

Have a great week whatever you’re doing,
