Dave came into my office with a worried look on his face…
There’s water coming through the ceiling next door!!
I rushed next door into our newly decorated kitchen..
And there was a huge water stain on the ceiling!!
We both went upstairs to try and find out where the water was coming from.
It was then that we realised there was water seeping out from underneath the bath panel!!
Here’s the crazy thing…
This bathroom has only ever been used twice, its newly installed!!
Okay we did have it installed several years ago..
This this is because the next door house is a holiday let..
The house has been an ongoing renovation project for several years…
The plumber that originally installed this bathroom has long since gone and we’ve lost contact with him.
I tried to find a local plumber but had absolutely no luck…
I pulled the bath panel off and had a look.
There was water coming out of the waste pipe and dripping down onto the floor..
There was water in the waste pipe because both of the bath taps were dripping..
When we had the bathroom installed I thought it would be really nice to get some antique taps…
I found some nice-looking taps on eBay but eventually they started to leak…
So now we had a real problem…
We needed to replace both taps, and repair the waste pipe…
If I couldn’t find a plumber I guess I was going to have to do it myself!
Sometimes it can be quite overwhelming when you approach something new!
I went onto YouTube and found some training videos…
I ordered some new taps…
Got all the parts I needed…
And did the repair myself!!
Okay I have to say it was not an easy thing to do…
Mainly because the DIY superstore is about a 30 minute drive away…
And I had to make about five or six trips backwards and forwards because I kept needing more parts!!
But in the end I got the job done and it’s remarkably satisfying…
Whenever I’m overwhelmed with a project…
I break it down into small bite-size chunks…
You just need to do a small amount each day…
And eventually the job gets done…
This is exactly what I’ve always done with Internet marketing….
Sometimes when you’re faced with a big challenge such as building an email list from scratch…
It can seem quite overwhelming….
But if you just work out what needs to be done….
Then break it down into small bite-size chunks….
It becomes much more manageable….
What I’ve been watching this week on Netflix
I’m a real sucker for inspirational movies…
Such as,
all the Rocky movies…
However one inspirational 80s movie I love is the original karate Kid movie…
Last week I was on Netflix and stumbled across a kind of sequel to the original karate Kid.
It’s called Cobra Kai, and features most of the original cast!!!
It’s incredibly well-made and very addictive…
How addictive?
I ended up watching all 10 episodes in one sitting!!
Apparently Cobra Kai is the number one show in America at the moment!
This is definitely one I’m going to purchase on Blu-ray to add to my collection.
I just got season 2 to watch now….
Talk soon,
