Moonwalking in France

So there I was tossing and turning at 3.30am…

I couldn’t get to sleep….

I was in pain….

And I had a deep feeling of frustration….

This is a common occurrence for me because I suffer from a bad back…

Over the last few weeks it’s been particularly bad…

The problem is, I end up getting very little sleep…

Then I find it really hard to do anything productive the next day…

Sometimes I find that the pain goes away if I switch to a different bed…

So two weeks ago I slept each night of the week on a different bed…

  • Monday in my normal bed….
  • Tuesday in the spare room…
  • Wednesday in bedroom one of the guesthouse…
  • Thursday in bedroom two of the guesthouse…

But guess what?

My back was still hurting…

But then I remembered last year when I was in California I had no back problems whatsoever.

So what was different?

Quite a lot of things actually….

  • I was seeing a chiropractor every two days…
  • I cut sugar out of my diet completely…
  • And I was also getting a huge amount of exercise…

Well because of everything that’s going on in the world, I didn’t think it was a particularly good idea to visit a chiropractor.

However I thought it was probable quite a good idea if I got moving and did some exercise.

So every day I go for a 2 to 3 mile walk…

I make sure I’m doing at least 10,000 steps a day…

And you know what…

My back has stopped aching…

And I’ve started to sleep properly again….

The best part is my productivity in the office has shot up again!!

One of the things I love to do when I go for a walk here in France is to listen to an audiobook.

I’m a subscriber of audible.com and I’m able to listen to audiobooks through my headphones whilst I walk..

On average I’m reading about one book per week…

This is a great way to expand your knowledge…

And learn new things…

Right now I’m learning how to improve my memory…

Believe it or not there are simple techniques you can learn to acquire a photographic memory…

Being dyslexic I was really curious to see if these techniques work?

Well all I can say is wow!!

Yes they work!!

I only wish I’d been taught some of these techniques when I was at school…

These are the same techniques that memory champions use…

And also the same techniques that card counters use to try to beat the house in casinos.

Must go now as I’ve noticed that I’m only up to 2500 steps today…

It’s been raining most of the day, and the rain has just stopped…

So I need to step outside and try and get another 1000 or 2000 steps in before it starts raining again!!

Have a great weekend whatever you’re doing,
