Okay I’ve,
- Washed all the windows in the house
- Mowed the lawn
- Relabelled all the spice jars in the kitchen
- Put all my books in alphabetical order
Okay I guess it’s time to start doing some of this work from home stuff…
Sound familiar…..
That’s exactly how I felt 20 years ago when I started working from home…
It can be hard to get into the swing of things….
But once you get into a routine, and making money it becomes quite easy…
So how has life been here in France over the last two weeks?
Well we’ve been in complete lockdown like many others around the world…
However I think I’m quite lucky…
I guess because we live in the country and have a very very large garden.
Also we only normally go out once or twice a week for food…
So now we just go out once every two weeks for food…
And Dave and I have been working from home for the last 20 years so nothing there has changed…
The only thing we’ve done differently is….
We have started planting vegetables in the garden…
For a long time we had a field in the front of our house earmarked as a vegetable patch.
However the ground is very uneven with large mounds of earth and large holes…
We were planning to get somebody with an excavator to level it out for us…
However I guess this is gonna happen for some time…
So what did we do?
We improvised….
I had a load of storage containers in the loft which I converted into planting boxes for potatoes and garlic…
And I used an existing flowerbed to plant some onions and herbs…
As far as business goes things have definitely changed…
Believe it or not sales are up…
This is a great time to sell information products….
In the last two weeks I’ve done one sales webinar…
And also a load online meetings using zoom…
In fact the last zoom meeting I had was with my mother…
She’s a violin teacher and she’s decided to teach the violin remotely…
My sister is a psychotherapist and she’s using zoom for her therapy sessions…
I spent two hours this morning teaching my mother how to use the zoom platform…
This is quite difficult to do when you’re in a different country…
So what did we do?
I did a video call with my mother using whatsapp.
My mother would point her phone at the computer screen and I told exactly what to click on.
I’m sure the same thing is happening up and down the country…
In fact just look at the share price of zoom video…
The share price has gone up considerably in the last month!!
I think I might invest some money in zoom this week…
