I will always remember 2022 as the 12 month summer…
Why?
I spent the first three months of the year in Thailand…
When I returned to France I bought the good weather with me…
Boy oh boy has it been a hot summer here in France and over the whole of Europe in fact…
I have a confession to make…
When the sun is shining…
And the weather is great…
I find it really hard to go into the office and do any work…
As a result I ended up taking most of the summer off this year…
But I wasn’t just lazing around by the pool…
Dave and I ended up doing a ton of work around the house and grounds this year…
- We painted the gates
- Created two more raised flower beds for the vegetables
- Jet washed and chlorine scrubbed all of the patios which wrap around the house…
- Created two new Wi-Fi networks which work anywhere on the property…
- Chain sawed and chopped up a fallen tree in the valley
- Finished off all the renovations in the guesthouse next door…
I’m now looking forward to relaxing again back in the office!
Crazy electricity prices in the UK
Back when I used to live in the UK my electricity price was 12p a kilowatt-hour…
In October the UK government is capping electricity prices at 57p per kilowatt hour!!
And apparently next year they are going up again!
Luckily here in France we only pay €0.12 a kilowatt hour…
However it has got me thinking….
Things can and do change….
And one of the things that has always been very dear to me in my life has been the idea of self-sufficiency…
That’s one of the main reasons why I have always run my own businesses…
And that’s my main drive to be an Internet marketer….
I’m in control of my own income…
That’s also the reason why Dave and I now grow our own vegetables…..
One of the next big projects I’m going to be working on is producing my own electricity….
Dave and I have decided to take the leap and go completely 100% off grid and produce all our own electricity…
We don’t want to sell our electricity back to the grid…
No!
Were going to have….
- Solar panels
- Wind turbines
- Batteries
And we are going to build the whole thing ourselves….
I spent the summer looking into this and learning all about this new subject…
My plan is to have the whole system built within a year….
And then possibly create a business around it….
I think there is a massive opportunity right now, especially in the UK to sell solar installations…..
The great thing is once we are 100% off grid….
We won’t need to pay any money to….
- Power our house…
- Heat our house
- Run the air conditioning
- Charge the Tesla
- Run all the garden equipment, ride on lawnmower, chainsaw weed whacker…
It’s a complete no-brainer…..
The other no-brainer is to be in charge of your own income….

Yes 2022 has really been the 12 month summer for me….
