We were having some landscaping done….

And we had hired a mechanical digger for the weekend..

We had also hired a guy who was going to operate the machine on Friday and Saturday….

Roy who was operating the digger is a really nice guy…

He agreed to spend an hour teaching me how to use the digger…

Here’s the weird thing….

It was kind of similar to operating a helicopter…..

In fact Roy was rather taken back that I could operate it so quickly…

So on Sunday I set about clearing some brambles and weeds…

Wow what fun….

It’s always useful learning new skills…

So now in the future if we ever need any small jobs doing…

I can just hire the digger for a day and operate it myself!!!

I did a similar thing last month….

We had some plastering done next door…

Hannah who was doing the plastering agreed to give me a quick lesson…

In fact I ended up plastering one whole wall…

This is a really useful skill to master…

Learning new skills serves several purposes….

The obvious being you can now do things yourself….

But for me I think the most important skill is….

If you hire somebody to do the job for you in the future….

You can make sure they’re doing the job correctly…

You can spot a cowboy a mile off….

And you can specify the job precisely….

The best skill I have learnt so far is affiliate marketing

This has enabled me to work from home…

Make a full-time living working only a few hours a week…

The best part…

It’s fun!!

And not be reliant on anybody else….
